Tuition: $203.00

More Than Music’s unique Teen Program provides an extraordinary opportunity for young people to experience social interaction and peer support in a positive, nurturing and fun-filled learning environment.

Teens for the very first time all of you will be together for one week! Imagine how much fun the dance will be. In order to make the Teen Program even more exciting we are hoping to hear from you. We would like your suggestions of activities that you would enjoy during your week at Summer Music Festival-Suzuki Kingston! Please contact ANNE at mtm@kingston.net with your ideas.

Teens will be housed in residence at Queen’s University and are supervised by professional teen counselor, Ric Cox and Emily McPherson. Teen Program members, in addition to participating in after-hours social activities, rehearse daily for a choreographed Broadway musical presentation that will be performed Friday evening.

The dance number, directed by Jim Selway, is a separate class from the Music Theater Program. Required dress for this production is long sleeved white dress shirts or blouses and dark pants or skirts—preferably just below knee length, and suitable shoes for dancing - no platform shoes or sneakers. There are many of other social activities including a trip to downtown Kingston, movie night, a “welcome” bar-b-que, a Friday Night Teen Dance and video “slumber” party.

Teens participating in the Teen Program will be expected to behave maturely and responsibly. Teens are expected to attend all of their classes, respect all curfews and rules set forth by the Counselor. Parents please note that 24 hour supervision of each participant is not possible. THERE IS NO SUPERVISION ON SATURDAY JULY 5. Rules and guidelines will be sent to parents in advance.

Parents who wish to have their children participate in the Teen program but prefer to have them sleep in their dorm rooms rather than in the area designated exclusively for Teens may do so. The Teen Program fee covers supervision, after hours activities, instruction for the dance number as well as counseling services for parents and teens. Housing fees are separate.
